I want to color my hair again!

It's only ever been pink, black or red. I miss having pink hair most! For years I always had pink in it but i haven't done it for a while. I was also thinking about putting some blue in it, too. Something new. I figure I may as well since I don't have any professional obligations now and when I'm out of school I won't be able to have as much freedom that way.

What do you guys think? Suggestions appreciated.

Almost Famous

Before Fall Out Boy was all famous and shit my best friend would listen to it all the time (I made fun of her, never been a fan). She was dating this douche, I mean this guy who moved to Richmond from Chicago. He noted 'this is Pete's band' and then proceded to tell her how he wanted to kill Pete Wentz for stealing his girlfriend. Of course when I heard that story I couldn't really give a shit because I didn't know anything about this band except that it totally wasn't punk rock so i didn't like it. Now Pete wentz is totally shoved down everyone's throat and dating celebrities and everything else. The guy my friend was dating is still... a douche?

Some very good friends of mine down here used to be in  a pop punk band called (I actually have to look it up...) Race the Sun. I know they were 'kind of a big deal' or whatever but they broke up because their singer was a douche. I recently found out the Gym Class Heroes and some other pop punky band that is super famous now used to open for shows that their band headlined. Sucks for them huh? They are good guys, though and they make catchy music. Some of them are into heavier stuff now, their drummer is in my boy's band, but I know that they really like writing catchy songs and touring and being loved by little girl fans.

Of course I know a lot of people that really huge bands play at their house before they were famous, that's kind of the story of this town. I'm not one to get starstruck of be particularly impressed by any of this but it just makes you think.

These guys are all the same. They are just dudes. They could have been superstars but they're not. I like it better that way. We can still hang out and just be kids.

Halloween

I have no idea what I'm going to be for Halloween. I've been thinking about it all year. Cameron and I had been talking about going as Dog the bounty hunter and his absurdly large breasted wife but I'm not really sure how that costume would happen. Now Cameron is going as Old Gregg. Go here if you don't know who Old Gregg is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PPWDglTboI and sorry if you didn't grow up watching british skit shows. I think that may be a prerequisite to finding it funny.

Q&A

Q:
A fan sent me a messagee asking which was my favorite shoot of all time.

A:
That is such a hard question. It's the most painful, long, uncomfortable, awkward shoots that usually end up being my favorites. When Kathryn shot me as a Harpy I did all my own makeup pretty quickly and then she instructed me to cover myself with feathers.... which didn't make a lot of sense to me so I had to figure out a way to attach them to my bare flesh. We tried tons of ideas but eventually scotch taped them all over me.
It's really all fun, though. I love when the sets and make-up that I design come to life the way I imagine them. I'm just so lucky to work with really cool people that want to see that happen as well.

I do this because I love it. It's awesome to get a good response from people and I wish I was better about documenting shoots. We have a ton of fun but SO much effort goes into each shoot. It can be really exhausting. It seems like models don't really get enough appreciation, it is actually a really physically demanding job even when you just have to emote finitely, but the other people sometimes never get any credit, make up artists and set designers are under a lot of pressure and the images just wouldn't come to life without their help. Of course I love the photographers. They have to share their visions with the people they are working with and then they have the pressure of creating the image to ensure that no one's hardwork goes unnoticed.

If you don't spend time around creative people I highly suggest it!

The world is upside down. As usual.

I'm watching the news and aparently someone is suing God. According to local news God countersued. This is the world we live in, amazing isn't it?

I'm exhausted. Never sleep. School, shooting a HUGE short film with (as of right now) a crew of me, RVA magazine shoot, set and costume design, working with Machinedance for designers, jewelry company, taking care of pets, pets, pets. I'm stoked to be busy but it is so exhausting.

I guess I'll sleep when I'm dead.
