Atilla's Blog
Hello my friends
I'm finally joining you again after a little holiday.
Summer's in full force here in the heart of dixie so I feel like it's time for a new beauty update. Here's some must haves for summer:

Make Up For Ever Aqua creams.
Their creamy waterproof pigments come in an array of colors that stay all day as shadows, liners, blushes, or lip colors. They're perfect for a girl that's too glam to go to the beach without her most fabulous face on. Definitely a model must have.

Speaking of the beach, you know to protect your skin from the sun but have you forgotten to protect your hair?! If you're a sun bunny, if you can't stay out of the pool or you love diving into the waves you know how dry and brittle your poor tresses get (especially if you color). Fear not my darlings Phyto has a solution for all your hair woes. This spray gives that essential barrier between your hair and the elements without gunking it up or weighing it down.

Sephora, OPI and Minx, three innovators in beauty come together to make you DIY chic with these press on nail appliques. Why spend your whole day in a nail salon when you can get the look in minutes at home! They're easier than they look too, just cut to fit and file off the excess. Wear them for 2 days and when you're done they peel off easily without hurting your nails! Personally, I'm a fan of the tiger stripes.
I could go on forever. The beauty world always has something new to keep us fabulous.
If you're in a shopping mood & want to see what else is new go to sephora.com or to a sephora store in your area to try on new products, get an expert to give you a summer makeover or try a free sample of a product you're curious about.
Comment and let me know about your favorite summer trend!
The exciting adventures of seasonally depressed lack of motivation girl.
I feel something exciting coming on.
I hate the winter. It was nice that it actually snowed here this year but I'm so ready for spring. The warmth and green and birds and flowers are all so much more inspiring than grey wet and cold. I miss the sunshine and being outside. But I do get excited anticipating the seasonal changes everytime I see a fresh green leaf trying to push it's way through the snow.
The boy is in New York piercing millionaires' thousand dollar navels during fashion week. It's awesome for him but I'm getting the travel bug pretty bad and if it weren't so hard for me to leave the comforts of my home and the duties to my soft and furries I'm sure I'd be on some adventure. It's too cold to be adventuring anyway so I've been brewing the pent up creativity and I want to dive into something new and different or rehashed and re-awesome.
I don't know what I'll be doing or what I'll manage to get my sticky fingers into but I'll be sure to share with you guys when I figure it out. And you'll probably think I'm strange but it seems like our culture is beginning to appreciate that a little more these days.
Go do something outrageous.
Cheers!
What is up with Heidi montag?
She was a pretty girl and now she looks like a pornstar freak.
Some people should't be allowed to get plastic surgery, like people with body dismorphic disorder. Anyway aren't surgeons supposed to use good judgement about the mental stability of their patients? Marrying that hitler youth, demon spawn is a sure sign that Heidi Montag is not competant enough to dress herself in the morning let alone pick out her own jumbo sized new breasts. Congratulations now you look like a used up porn star and your career will totally take off... just keep on praying, I'm sure Jesus is really stoked to have you as his number one fan.
Terrible!
Be pretty pretty: A few of my favorite things.
Here's a list of some cosmetics I'm loving for the holidays:
Tarte's Holiday palette, a sephora exclusive:
It has matte shadows, shimmery shadows, lip colors, blushes, luminizer and bronzer all in one shiny package and it's the bargain of the season for $52 (a ridiculous $686 value). Forget traveling with a seperate suitcase for make up, the Treasure Chest has just about everything you need. Awesome!

The new YSL Singulier Mascara is a new fave. Curls, defines, lenthens, dramatizes the lashes- everything a girl wants. The brush design is tres fab and your lashes will be too.

Mister Light from Givenchy brightens and gives life back to tired under eyes and lifeless winter skin. It dries to a perfect powdery finish and comes in 6 adorably named shades from Mister Meringue to Mister Cinnamon.

Don't forget to take proper care of your canvas. Winter weather isn't kind to our skin so stay hydrated by drinking water and using a good moisturizer day and night.
If you're oily and you don't like wearing a heavy moisturizer during the day go for a hydrating serum with hyluronic acid like Make Up Forever's HD Elixir. It's great for all skin types, young or old, dry or oily and it's thin enough to wear under make up.

It may sound ridiculous but
I find myself interesting. Because I take interest in most people. Nothing about superficial things are interesting except for what they describe about our deeper selves our little emotional nests inside of us that hide our innermost truths. I want to know what's hidden there, I like secrets. But there's also something about knowing that you can't know everything about anyone and the only person you'll ever really know is yourself and even that is complex. So I'm fascinated by myself what I was in the past, what I've transformed into and what I could potentially become in the future.
I like to imagine if four year old me met me now. I think we ought to live in a way that makes our four year old selves happy.
And that's the meaning of life.
As far as I can tell anyway.
Fall Fashion
I hate the fall. It's cold and it smells like mold. While some people like fall fashion because i gives them a chance to layer or bundle up, I think it's the most annoying time of the year because it takes an excruciating amount of time to pick out an outfit! If I am actually able to throw the right layers together so that it's cute odds are I'm going to be wearing the same outfit for the majority of the season because my apartment is really short on closet space.
That's my fall look- Cartoon character. I'll wear the exact same ridiculous outfit everyday like a superhero or one of the simpsons. I love it in cartoons where they show their closets and they're full of the same dress. Amazing.
I do love the fall looks as usual though! Right now I'm pretty into the white blazer thing:

I hate to say it and my Mum would probably rub it in my face but shoulder pads are back and they're cute.
Plaid is always a good fall/winter choice IMO:

We already discussed that layering is essential. I'll wear a plaid shirt over anything- band shirt or girly dress, whatever.
That reminds me that fashion is all about wearing your shabby with your chic. One trend I'm not entirely on the same page with this fall is animal prints... gtfover it already! Why do we keep trying to reinvent this year after year? For the most part people do an awful job trying to pull this off and when it's bad it's BAD. Please if you're looking at your closet right now and it looks like you went on a murderous, hyde-taking rampage on a african safari- well just think about moving on from this 'trend'... even if they're doing it on the runways or in the magazines. Let's all remember that very few of us are supermodels and just because they do it it doesn't mean we have to.
On that note I'll leave you with my wishlist:
Yes, I desperately want these motocross jeans, these fabulous balenciaga booties and the perfect pair of cowboy/riding boot hybrids that don't actually exist.

Hello friends, I need your thoughts.
Hi friends,
Over the past couple of years I've gotten to know some of you and as always I love to hear your feedback and feelings. Now I want you to do something else for me- tell me what you want to see. Give me your ideas for photoshoots, I want you to decide what my next shoots will look like: what should I dress like, should I base something off of your favorite album cover, fashion designer, character from a book?
Let's collaborate! It's no fun for me if you don't like seeing it and I know you're full of creative ideas so shoot me a message or leave me a comment & I'll try my best to bring your ideas to life.
cheers lovlies!

Michael Jackson blah blah blah
Okay, weird he died... but I really don't want to have to hear about it constantly for the next month. Talking about death is boring and annoying and I think it's twisted that in our culture we obsess over it (see aso Jesus... the guy did a lot more than just die and I really don't think he'd be too stoked to see his devoted fans wearing necklaces of his execution. Remember the good times, yeesh.)
How would you want people to react if you died suddenly?
I think I would just want my friends and family to hang out together and take a holiday, party. I would protest a funeral... I don't want a marked grave, I don't even want my family to have to worry about what happens to my body and I'd just keep rolling in my grave if they spent thousands of dollars on a caskett! If it's legal in Virginia I'd rather just be tossed in a hole in the ground. I think it's cruel that our loved ones have to spend absurd amounts of money on the dead.
Do you ever?
Do you ever read through your messages trying to pick out strange word combinations in broken english thinking to yourself wow this person's translator must really not be working today and then you go to their page and realize they're actually white bread America born and raised. That's a little scary to me.
Tattoos and the best coffee table book of the year
Today I finally got my hair cut.
I'm also trying my hand at bonsai one more time. My efforts have been fruitless in the past mostly because the rats like to sleep in the plants and eat the dirt.
Spent the whole weekend at the tattoo convention to see friends from out of town some of whom I some how narrowly missed and others I got to see a lot which was rad. Did a cool photoshoot, watched depraved strippers gyrating on old man crotch for dollar bills, vomited in my mouth, caught up with a lot of folks I haven't seen for a lonnng time, read a pamphlet that told me I must make satan my financial adviser and even made some new friends.
Now you should all go buy this from incredible artist and good friend, Jason Levesque- the stuntkid. I highly suggest you keep his books on your coffee table and his art on your walls, as I do.
